Julie Roberts’ Cover of “Blue Christmas” Featured on The CW’s Hart of Dixie Holiday Episode

Julie Roberts’ take on the holiday favorite “Blue Christmas” will be prominently featured on The CW’s “Hart of Dixie” (12/5) for their holiday special. Her song will be featured in a scene where the character Zoe is apologizing to Rose, followed by a flashback for Lemon. Julie’s new record Who Needs Mistletoe, produced by Jason Collum of Sorted Noise, has been receiving tremendous reviews and we’re excited to hear this track on tomorrow night’s episode!

Julie Roberts Receives Rave Reviews in New York Times

Nashville country favorite Julie Roberts has just released her sweet and sultry Christmas album Who Needs Mistletoe, the title track co-written and the entire album recorded and produced by Sorted Noise’s Jason Collum here at Sorted Noise! The record is already garnering serious accolades including a rave review in the New York Times under their Holiday Gift Guide. While the guide features reviews of a dozen or so CD’s including the likes of Justin Bieber and Michael Buble’, only 2 albums photos were used, including Julie’s cover. Pretty fantastic!

Ellis Paul Joins Treat The Pain With New Song and Video

Folk hero Ellis Paul, who made waves when he singlehandedly raised over $100,000 to record and distribute his last record – the Sorted Noise-produced “The Day After Everything Changed” – is giving back that good mojo in spades as the new artist spokesperson for the American Cancer Society’s Treat The Pain initiative. Treat the Pain is a project of the American Cancer Society and the Union for International Cancer Control to improve access to essential pain medicines for people in pain around the world.

Sorted Noise had the pleasure of teaming up with Ellis once again to produce his original theme for the initiative entitled “We All Belong.” The 85% of the world living in low and middle-income countries consumes just 6% of the pain medicines, leaving millions to live and die with severe pain that could be effectively treated with cheap medicines. Proceeds from the sale of the song will benefit the Pain-Free Hospital Initiative in India.

“We All Belong” is featured in Treat The Pain’s stirring documentary “Life Before Death.” Here is the moving trailer for that documentary, featuring Ellis’ inspiring composition.

Below is a message from Ellis Paul…

I was so honored to be asked to write a song for Treat the Pain. The challenge was to try to write something that was both a plea and a call to positive action, while of course sharing in the song some of the hardship that people are experiencing. How do you be uplifting and express pain at the same time?

I believe in the collective unconscious. That we are all part of the same ethos. That somehow all of our joys and sorrows are shared, even when not experienced directly together. In this way, someone who is suffering in Africa sends a ripple, a butterfly effect, out into this ethos, and in some way it eventually reaches all of us. Joy works in the same way.

That was my starting place. To show the individual, in pain, and show the whole of us, in action. The chorus is a call to arms, we all belong…. so to rise collectively, as a river and lift those in need.

We needed a big chorus and my friends at Sorted Noise were the perfect choice of a production team. I’m proud of their work, because they too rose to the call of action.

I hope you enjoy the song. In purchasing it, you become part of a global wide effort to cease uneccessary suffering in the world, and create ripples of peace in the process….

Many remember Roberts’ top 20 hit “Break Down Here” – the song from her eponymous debut record which went certified gold and launched Julie into the spotlight.
