Called “Inhaling a Bullet,” the song is released as a follow up to their first Top 10 single off of Par Avion, “Run From Yesterday.” This time around, all the major radio stations were ready and eager to add them quickly, and within 6 weeks the second single has moved into the Top 10.

High Flight Society is a marquee example of Sorted Noise’s Artist Positioning at work. Finding ways to separate yourself and your sound from all the noise out there is at the core of Artist Positioning. High Flight Society was ready to take a chance and break the mold in a way that remained authentic to their developing sound. We’re excited about all the success that this project has had and look forward to what’s in store for HFS.

High Flight Society is Rocking the Air Waves

Posted on 28 May 2009 by sortednoise

Sorted Noise-produced Atlanta rock outfit High Flight Society was Most Added to CR radio last week. Their first single “Run From Yesterday” is gaining momentum on the radio across the country. It’s the first single off of the EP “Par Avion” – due for digital release June 12th.

These guys are totally fun and crazy and their live show is not to be missed. They will be touring the West coast this summer in support of Par Avion’s release. You can follow their antics on Youtube and on their myspace page, here.

High Flight Society is at the forefront of the success that can come from strategic Artist Positioning with Sorted Noise. Here’s what the band had to say about working with Sorted Noise on their latest EP:

Produced by Thad Beaty and Jason Collum (Sorted Noise), HFS felt that the production skills of the Nashville duo would benefit their new, no-holds-barred approach to songwriting. In the past, the band tried to write songs that fit into the current modern rock mold and fit within the limits of the sound they had created for themselves. This time, however, they wanted to go outside of those boundaries.

When we started putting together songs for the new album, I wanted the freedom to write whatever I came up with. That is why all the songs came out so differently, yet at the same time they still sound like HFS,” lead guitarist Michael Packer said.

“All the songs were spawned from personal experiences we’ve had as we’ve grown and matured, both as a band and individuals,” singer Jason Wilkes said. “There is no sugar coating in an attempt to make the songs have more of a mass appeal. These words are simply us talking about things we’ve gone through. I think because of that, every song on the EP will hit home with tons of people.”

High Flight Society’s passion, honesty, and identity shine through on “Par Avion.”  And radio is taking notice.

We’ve posted several new songs we’ve recently finished for a few people. As always we were fortunate to work with many talented folks from several different genres.

Deanna Harper wrote some great country songs.  Paisley Van Patten sang them equally great.

We wrote and recorded some pop music with Kara Mann.  More to come this summer!

A couple of High Flight Society tunes are up.  They rock. More to come from them, as well!

Sorted Noise 09……. So Far So Good

Posted on 28 February 2009 by sortednoise

Well here we are already a few months in to 09. Here’s the update thus far. This past month we finished up EP’s for Julie Downs and Kara Mann. Both projects turned out great, and are getting ready for debut. During the holiday season Sorted Noise produced an EP for singer/songwriter Caitlyn Smith. Caitlyn’s stirring voice and skilled songwriting chops are in full force on this EP and her project is getting really great buzz in Nashville and beyond.

The new year started with the production of an EP for the band High Flight Society. These guys rock! Songs from this EP will definitely be placed in a Major Film and or prime TV spots, and you will be hearing from High Flight Society for a long time to come.

Currently we are in the midst of a full record for singer/songwriter legend and folk icon Ellis Paul. This project is going to be Amazing! Ellis writes extremely moving story songs. Each one grabs you and doesn’t let go. His songs have been heard all over TV and radio. Ellis’s “The World Ain’t Slowin Down” was the theme for the Jim Carey movie “Me, Myself and Irene,” and I’m sure many of the songs from this record will find their way to big placements.

Secrets in Stereo keeps getting more TV exposure. “Happy” and “Tonight” will be featured in “Bring It On 5.” “Falling” was just in “The Real World Brooklyn”. And…. the Paul Alan Continue Reading
