Sorted Noise artist Kylee Johnson will be singing as Bachelorette winner Jesse Csincsak and Ann Lueders tie the knot today in Las Vegas. Jesse commissioned Kylee and co-writer Deanna Harper with writing a song for the couple to dance to. Bride-to-be Leuders loved the song so much that she insisted it be performed while she walked down the aisle.
The wedding will be televised and aired in a few weeks. Read more about the couple here at People.com. Here’s the latest press release from Vegas…
Keep an eye (and ear) out for the song “Feel You” when the wedding is broadcast! Congrats Kylee and Deanna!
Mayor Thomas Manino of Boston has proclaimed July 9, 2010 to be “Ellis Paul Day” in the city of Boston. We here at Sorted Noise are thrilled to share the Mayor’s proclamation on our website and believe that the honor is very well-deserved. Seriously, this is totally crazy. Check out Ellis’ latest effort produced by Sorted Noise called “The Day After Everything Changed” here! Congratulations Ellis!
Kylee Johnson, multi-talented singer-songwriter out of LA via Salt Lake City, recently recorded an EP with Sorted Noise which is generating buzz all over the map. Radio stations all over Salt Lake have been featuring Kylee’s music and her EP recently caught the ear of former “Bachelor” TV star Jesse Csincsak.
Jesse devoted a blog post to Kylee on his personal site which receives 20,000 hits per day. Read the full post here, which also includes Kylee’s mp3’s. We’re excited for all the buzz Kylee is getting with this latest effort!
(One of our fave bands – Little Big Town – is hosting their fan club party here at the Rutledge right before the Sorted Noise showcase. So make a day of it! Catch LBT, grab some lunch next door or at the venue once doors open again, and head back to the Rutledge for dessert! First come first served! )
The recent flooding in Nashville has been shocking and heartbreaking. And while we’re so grateful that our studio in Franklin was spared of the water, our hearts go out to everyone who has been dealing with this tragedy. It’s also been inspiring to watch as our artists and communities have come together to pull through this disaster. As a transplant to Nashville via post-Katrina New Orleans, I’m no stranger to floods, nor to the seemingly random manner in which certain homes escape devastation, while others right up the street are inundated and destroyed.
So it was with stoic sorrow that I learned that less than a 1/4 mile from my house in Bellevue TN, where my place was high and dry, our dear friend and renowned country artist Julie Roberts was flooded up to her chest and later rescued by boat along with her mother, sister, and 4 dogs from the second story of their home.
Just days before, Sorted Noise had recorded a project with Julie, including the song “Somebody Does,” which is an inspiring reminder that no matter how hard things seems, somebody out there loves you and is thinking about you. The song is certainly timely during this difficult period and it’s been amazing to watch Julie, who despite the devastation to her own home, has continued to lend her time and talents to the recovery effort, including performing “Somebody Does” for the Nashville Flood Relief telethon which along with Vince Gill, Keith Urban and a host of Nashville’s talent was able to raise over 1.7 million dollars in funds for the relief effort.
You can listen and share the new track here…
We encourage everyone to spread this widget along with awareness of the recent events in Nashville.
Throughout this ordeal, Julie became a trusted resource for many news networks including Fox and The Weather Channel. You can read her first-hand account of the flooding below:
Our thoughts and prayers are with Julie and everyone who was affected by this tragedy.
High Flight Society’s 2nd single from their Sorted Noise-produced EP Par Avion, has shot to the #8 spot on Billboard’s CR Chart. Called “Inhaling a Bullet,” the song is released as a follow up to their first Top 10 single off of Par Avion, “Run From Yesterday.” This time around, all the major radio stations were ready and eager to add them quickly, and within 6 weeks the second single has moved into the Top 10.
High Flight Society is a marquee example of Sorted Noise’s Artist Positioning at work. Finding ways to separate yourself and your sound from all the noise out there is at the core of Artist Positioning. High Flight Society was ready to take a chance and break the mold in a way that remained authentic to their developing sound. We’re excited about all the success that this project has had and look forward to what’s in store for HFS.

Our crazy rockin’ friends from Atlanta have just released the second single from the Sorted Noise-produced EP Par Avion. The news is spreading and being streamed on such high profile music sites as tunelab.com, a premiere mainstream rock website which receives around 12,000,000 unique visitors a month. The track “Inhaling a Bullet” is already gaining momentum at radio and we look forward to witnessing the same success which was had with their first single, the Top 10 hit “Run From Yesterday.”
The video has generated a couple thousand views in a matter of a few days as well as an outpouring of fan support for Ellis’ new record “The Day After Everything Changed”, produced by Sorted Noise.
Fan Commentary:
“If you purchase this cd you will not be disappointed – every song is amazing!”
“I could not have said it better. Phenomenal artist. Phenominal person. A truly nice guy. And the CD is his best to date and I own them all. Way to go, Ellis.”
“Listened to the new recording all the way through for the first time today. I thought I knew what I was in for, given how many EP years I’ve clocked listening to his now substantial song catalog. I was, instead, astonished. There is depth here that he has been building on for these many years, and holy trapezoids, wh…at thoughtful and spot-on production. I’m breathless. It is possible to be surprised and delighted, drawn in and moved, sparked and irrigated, in a way that shows an artist growing and growing. Thank you. And wow.”
Secrets In Stereo’s track “Starting to Rain” was featured on MTV’s “The Hills” recently for those of you who indulge. In addition, the SIS song “No Such Thing” is being featured heavily in CBS’ promos for their latest medical drama “Three Rivers.” We saw the commercial about 30 times while watching football last weekend which was totally awesome. We’re excited to be creating music which is being so well-received on the air waves. Keep an ear out; more to come!
Ellis Paul’s song “Once Upon a Summertime” was featured yesterday on USA Today’s Playlist, a piece the paper runs recommending great music to the public. The song off the Sorted Noise-produced album “The Day After Everything Changed” is generating a lot of buzz and seems to be a favorite among critics.
Sorted Noise produced artist, Perrin Lamb, was a featured performer at the popular music festival, Next Big Nashville. A veteran of the Nashville indie scene, Perrin debuted one of his newest tunes, “Make it By Morning,” 5 stories up on a downtown rooftop venue called Aerial.

Direct Current’s recent review of Ellis Paul’s latest record with Sorted Noise “The Day After Everything Changed” yielded descriptive words like “Extraordinary”, “Stellar”, and “Heartbreaking.” Sweet! But I think my personal favorite is “Sumptuous.”
sump·tu·ous: Of a size or splendor suggesting great expense; lavish – rich and superior in quality.
Yes, I looked up the definition of “Sumptuous.” And it is good.
Here’s the full review!
Hope you’ll get a chance to check out this sumptuous offering sometime soon!
Once again, Sorted Noise-produced Secrets in Stereo are landing placements all over the map. Last Friday, the song “Step Outside” was featured on the show “Jockeys,” airing on Animal Planet.
And in other big news… All this week, SIS’ song “Falling” (co-written with Jason Collum) will be featured on the 2nd highest rated daytime show on television, CBS’ Dr. Phil Show (You can guess who’s #1. I’ve give you a hint… it rhymes with “Roprah”). This week is the premiere week for the show, and the song will be used in a recurring promo for the rest of the upcoming season. It’s a 2 minute promo, and “Falling” will be used for over half of that. Pretty cool.
High Flight Society is the Band of the Week on m-brio music, a super cool, progressive, indie music website based in the UK.

The film and TV placements keep a’ comin’ for Sorted Noise and Sorted Noise-produced artists. Recently, Secrets in Stereo landed songs all over the map. Look for their track “Quit and Go Home” when Netfilx delivers your copy of the summer hit movie ”I Love You Man.” It’s the first song you’ll hear when you pop in the DVD. For HBO fans, you can hear SIS’s song “Again” in the trailer for the upcoming season of great shows. On top of that, “Wrong Side of Yesterday” and “Again” can both be heard on the Season 5 DVD collection of Grey’s Anatomy. Whew!
In addition, Sorted Noise and hit songwriter Jeff Cohen recently teamed up to create music for ESPN and their family of networks. So next time you hear some rip-roaring rock while watching recaps from football practice, it just might be the boys from Sorted Noise.
We are excited to be focussing our efforts on the world of Film and Television and pleased with the great progress being made. We were recently asked to write and produce a few songs for superstar song guru Luke at lukehits.com for his soon to be launched new collection. Looking forward to producing more tracks and writing new material here at the studio. Stay tuned!
Sugarland’s latest release “Live on the Inside” featuring Sorted Noise’s Thad and Annie debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 last week…
Pre-production for the next Perrin Lamb EP is underway. We’re excited about this project particularly because we’re tracking strictly with instruments that can be found within the confines of the Sorted Noise which should put us in a situation to come up with some new, creative sounds…

Stay tuned, there are some cool things in the works for them.
Kal Hourd’s latest release, Sorted Noise-produced “Haven’t Even Met Yet” has been safely returned to earth on the space shuttle Endeavor just as its first single “Beautiful Sound” begins its own rise on the Canadian country charts. The song debuted at #46 this week! Yeehaw!
“A singer songwriter is only as good as the times he reflects. In times like these, when so many nuts are running the show, it’s comforting to know that Ellis Paul is actually holding our sanity on his own stage! Wise, tender, brilliant and biting, Ellis is one of our best human compasses, marking in melodies and poems where we’ve been and where we might go if we so choose to. Personally Ellis, I’m goin’ where you’re goin’ ”
–Nora Guthrie (Woody Guthrie’s Daughter)
And High Flight Society moves into the #7 spot with their single “Run From Yesterday” off of their Sorted Noise-produced EP “Par Avion.”
Sorted Noise produced High Flight Society continues to climb the charts, cracking the top 10 with their first single from their latest EP Par Avion, “Run From Yesterday.” Additionally, they are number one on effectradio.com, one of the most popular stations in their format.

Check out their latest video blog from the road. Their van breaks down in the desert and the situation quickly deteriorates. These guys can hold their own though, I must say. They are troopers.
Seriously, these guys are so funny in so many unexpected ways. I hope you get a chance to catch up with them at a show one of these days. For more on High Flight visit their website!
On July 15th, the space shuttle endeavor was launched into space, carrying a piece of equipment likely to bring sheer joy, new levels of camaraderie, and jubilation to the International Space Station. That’s right, the rocket is carrying none other than the latest Sorted Noise-produced project from country artist Kal Hourd; “Haven’t Even Met Yet.”
Astronaut Julie Payette requested to bring the record along as one of only a handful of personal effects that each astronaut can bring a board a shuttle. So you know this record is freakin’ good.
Following a smooth countdown with no technical issues and weather that steadily improved throughout the afternoon, the shuttle lifted off from Launch Pad 39A and began its orbital chase of the International Space Station. Shortly before takeoff, Ms. Payette said she was excited to go.
“Of course, I’ve been ready for a month now. We’re really looking forward to go and execute the mission. That’s what we’re here for,” Ms. Payette said. “I can tell you there is nothing routine standing next to a spacecraft or strapped inside a spacecraft . . . it’s quite awesome.”
Here’s a video of the launch. Go Kal go!
The shuttle is to carry seven crew members to the orbiting International Space Station (ISS) where they are to complete the assembly of the Japanese Kibo laboratory. And jam out to the sweet rockin’ country, accessible, get-under-your-skin, catchy sounds of Kal Hourd’s “Haven’t Even Met Yet.”
Sorted Noise produced High Flight Society’s single “Run from yesterday” made it’s debut in the top 20 last week at #17 and has risen to the 16th position this week; a pretty phenomenal achievement considering the release is independent. Only a few stations are still left to add the single to their playlists and the song is expected to continue moving up the charts. High Flight Society’s latest EP, Par Avion, is available on itunes and at High Flight’s website…
High Flight Society has been selling out shows on the west coast this summer and is about to embark on an east coast run including dates in NYC and festivals sharing bills with the likes of Alicia Keys.
Secrets in Stereo and Sorted Noise continue to take Artist Positioning to new heights, this time with a placement in a major motion picture trailer. The song “Again,” is heavily featured in the trailer for the new romantic comedy, “I Hate Valentine’s Day” staring John Corbett and Nia Vardalos (yep, the My Big Fat Greek Wedding stars reunite). To hear the song, scroll to minute 1:27…
Sorted Noise produced “Haven’t Even Met Yet”, Kal Hourd’s debut release is being taken on a 16-day mission to the International Space Station by Canadian Space Agency astronaut Julie Payette aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavour, which is targeted to launch June 13.
Think of it as a literal record launch.
Ms. Payette, a fan of Kal Hourd, contacted him through his website requesting to take a copy of his album into space with her. The prestige is rare, with the Saskatoon based singer/songwriter now slotted to join the ranks of music legends The Beatles, Chuck Berry, Sarah McLachlin, Taylor Swift and Beethoven, as a select few to have been blasted into space. Kal has also been invited by the Canadian Space Agency to attend the launch at Cape Canaveral, Florida.
In 2007 Kal Hourd received the Rising Star Award at the Saskatchewan Country Music Awards (SCMA), and in January 2008 was invited to showcase his song writing skills and vocal styling at the OnTheVerge Festival in Nashville, Tennessee. This showcase provided the opportunity to record his debut album with the help of producers Thad Beaty and Jason Collum of Sorted Noise. “Haven’t Even Met Yet”, is a creative culmination of many different music styles and influences filled with catchy phrases, great melodies and an unforgettable vocal.
“Haven’t Even Met Yet” can be expected to make its debut in stores mid-August 2009 through E1 Music Canada.
