ABC’s Pretty Little Liars – Episode Overdub
Song: “Who Knows (Where the Time Goes)”
We recently fielded a unique opportunity to overdub acoustic guitar for a scene in which teen heartthrob Noel serenades the lovely Aria, who eventually joins in to sing along, while the two are trapped in the school library due to a wild storm and a subsequent power outage. (If only we could all get our groove on like that in high school.)
Sorted Noise was called in to overdub the character’s acoustic intro in order to balance the audio and give the track some additional heft, while lining up his strumming pattern to segue perfectly into the full-blown track, which ran throughout the episode-ending montage. Needless to say, finding a happy medium between following the strumming pattern of the character’s, (who taped his scene playing free-time), and manipulating the music to flow seamlessly into the song chosen for the montage was a task that required great precision. Sorted Noise enjoyed executing this challenging exercise and was honored to be a part of the show.
